In Airdrie, our schools are at the heart of the community. Families, teachers, and students bring them to life, but decisions made at the trustee level shape how well they’re able to thrive. That’s why I’m running for School Trustee — to ensure the voices of parents, educators, and community members are truly heard.
Why Kristi?
I’m Kristi — a parent, a long-time community volunteer, and someone who cares deeply about the future of our children. I’ve seen firsthand how policies and funding decisions affect both students and teachers. From participating in local initiatives to supporting non-profits, my work has always been about building connections and creating spaces where people feel supported.
What Matters to Me
Students First Every child deserves the chance to succeed, no matter their background or circumstance. That means making sure resources are available equitably across all schools.
Supporting Educators Teachers and education assistants are the backbone of our classrooms. I want to see them supported with the training, resources, and respect they need to do their best work.
Well-Being and Belonging Schools should be safe, welcoming places. Mental health supports, inclusive policies, and community partnerships are essential to help every student feel like they belong.
Collaboration with Parents Parents are partners in education. I believe in open dialogue and creating more opportunities for families to have a say in the decisions that affect their children.
Building Stronger Connections
Trustees can’t do this work alone. My approach will always be to listen first — to students, to parents, to teachers, and to our broader community. I’ll prioritize transparency, hold space for honest conversations, and work to strengthen the partnerships between schools, families, and community organizations.
Looking Ahead
Our schools face real challenges, but with collaboration and care, we can create environments where every student is supported. My commitment is to bring the voices of Airdrie families to the table, to ask the hard questions, and to keep students at the centre of every decision.
